CDC quietly revises autism rates to 1% of US children

... cdc quietly upped its autism numbers on their web site to 1 in 100 yesterday... sneaking it in on a friday... shhhh... don't wanna wake the press...

Tina Cruz caught them:

CDC quietly revises autism rates to 1% of US children

When I tried to verify the numbers, the CDC still lists the 2007 statistics of 1 in 150 in their official report, the new report has not been released) but the numbers on the webpage have been modified to reflect "1 in 100 to 1 in 300 with an average of 1 in 150" for prevalence in autism. The last modification that was made to the page was September 25, 2009.

Shouldn't autism rates be decreasing since Thimerosal was removed in 2001 from most childhood vaccines?

Yes...

IF it was removed in 2001, which it was not..

and

IF it was the sole cause of autism, which clearly it is not.

Pharma began making lower dose thimerosal shots in 2001, but there was never a recall and full dose Hg shots stayed on the shelves and lots already made continued to be sold. Mom's like me, who deman to see the box before their kids got a shot were finding full dose mercury shots on the shelves with expiration dates as late as 2007. (Docs didn't even know they were giving them and assumed as you did, that the mercury had been removed).

My son was the first birth cohort to get the lower dose Hg shots. He was born in March 2002, and even the lower dose Hep B shot he got at birth was STILL over the EPA limit for mercury for him.

Further, mercury causes mitochondrial damage and cell death at nanomolar amounts (go to pubmed and search "thimerosal mitochondria". Far less than the "trace amounts" still in vaccines. (and certainly less than the sill in use full dose Hg flu shots)

When Dr. Poling was going to appear in vaccine court, he was going to argue a triple hit hypothesis. That Hannah's first Hg containing shot gave her the mitochondrial disorder, and the last round interacted with the mito disorder to cause the autistic regression.

The doctors as HHS conceded the mito+vaccine=regression part of the arguement, we assume so that he wouldn't have a chance to prove the whole theory.

Because if that is the case, then a very small amount of mercury in an early vaccine, combined with lots of vaccines later, can still cause autism in a child that might otherwise be neurologically typical.

This falls in line with the recent study that found that children given the Hep B shot at birth are three times more likely to go on to have autism.

But if there will be a drop in cases, we should begin to see it by next year.

This of course does not even address the other potential mechanisms like persistent measles infection from MMR, adjuvant induced autoimmunity that causes inflammation and on and on...

And we are also keeping an eye on the SEVERITY of autism. If the reduction in mercury does not lead to fewer cases, but more mild cases, that is significant.

I only know one non verbal child born after my son, I know several born before.

In about 4 years we will be able to look at the difference between kids with "autism" born in the 1990's with full dose mercury, and those born in the 2000's with lower mercury burden.

But I think at this point it is safe to say that the mercury is not the sole cause of autism. However it still looks as if it is playing a large part.

But until we stop calling all these different medical pictures "autism" and start giving the physical syndromes that result in the behaviors of autism their own names, we will continued to be hampered in figuring out causation.

But clearly it is a multi-causal disorder.

What do you think about this article?

I think that it will be a week before I even have time to read that article. But I will try to get to it.

Thanks so much, Ginger.

Your unrelenting work to getting the truth out there, and holding those at fault accountable is inspiring.

Keep fighting the good fight. I was at a local autism workshop this past weekend, and EVERY SINGLE MOTHER THERE found that their children had SEVERE reactions to a vaccine followed by an explosion in autistic symptoms.

I think it is discusting how people are even believing any of that s--t the dr's are telling you about! Ask your self what your vacinating against.Measles, polio? now tell me the other 35 that they get.Do your homework before you let this govenment stick any needles in your babies bodies! They need you to buy ridlin, adivan, aderall ect. DUH! oh yeah and its 1 in 50 diagnosed now.
