As an autism mom who has been pleading with the CDC to address our children's health crisis, I let out an internal scream so loud dogs could hear it.
And I have to wonder where they were planning on airing this? The CW?
Please CDC, justify this project ahead of the prevention and treatments of ASD, OCD, ADD/ADHD, PANDAS, Lyme, and the epidemics of neurological and autoimmune disorders that you are completely ignoring.
My guess is that the day after Tom Price is confirmed and names a CDC Director, Anne Schuchat will be done and this expenditure will be gone, as I am pretty sure she is quite confused about the role of government in general, and the job of the specific department that she is currently temp heading.
There is a fine line between extended family members providing council to a teen on their sex life, and participating in a teen's sex life. Grandma seems to be crossing that line and "grooming" her grandchild.
Grandma may need a mental health evaluation, and if parents don't restrict her access to her grandchildren, it might warrent CPS involvement.

Today, the Johns Hopkins Journal, Narrative Inquiry in Bioethics, has published their issue entitled, "Narrative Symposium: To Vaccinate or Not? Parents' Stories."
The journal description of this edition: "This narrative symposium, "To Vaccinate or Not? Parents' Stories", is comprised of personal stories from 12 parents on their decisions about whether or not to vaccinate their children.They offer a first hand look at the debated issues of vaccination. As the narrative symposium editors said, "The goal of this symposium is to aid in a more constructive conversation between pro-vaccination/anti-vaccination groups."

Families are under no obligation to put their children at risk by participating in the corrupt current US National Immunization Program
My name is Ginger Taylor, and I hold an MS in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. I am the mother of a 14–year–old vaccine injured child with an autism diagnosis, and our family no longer participates in the vastly corrupt and broken US National Immunization Program. Because of my experiences, I have become a state and national leader on vaccine safety and vaccine choice issues, co–founding The Canary Party, and The Maine Coalition for Vaccine Choice.
I have two sons, born in 2000 and 2002, and vaccinated them roughly according the the recommended schedule. My second son suffered what we now recognize as an adverse vaccine reaction to his first dose of the Hep B vaccine, but it was not recognized as such by either myself or his pediatricians at the time, so he continued to be vaccinated according to the CDC recommended schedule. Following his 18 month appointment, he suffered a severe neurological regression, displayed symptoms of GI distress, showed signs of an autoimmune condition, and was diagnosed with autism six months later.
His was a text book case of vaccine induced encephalopathy, per the Health and Human Services (HHS), Human Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Vaccine Injury Table established by the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP), displaying symptoms including:
(1) A significant change in mental status that is not medication related; specifically a confusional state, or a delirium, or a psychosis;
(2) A significantly decreased level of consciousness, which is independent of a seizure and cannot be attributed to the effects of medication; including:
Decreased or absent response to environment (responds, if at all, only to loud voice or painful stimuli);
Decreased or absent eye contact (does not fix gaze upon family members or other individuals); or
Despite this, and despite my repeated attempts to have my son's pediatrician investigate his condition as a vaccine reaction, no such inquiry was undertaken, and these symptoms were used instead to give him a diagnosis of autism. I would not read the VICP Vaccine Injury Table to learn that his were the symptoms of a well established vaccine injury for several years, and until after the three year statute of limitations had expired for me to file for compensation for his disability.
After being abandoned by the mainstream medical system, we sought expensive, out of pocket, alternative medical care, which proved very fruitful for our son. Although we lost our home over the choice, we still would make the same decision, as it dramatically increased his health and functioning. We are pleased to report that, while he still has full syndrome autism, he has gone from severe to a much higher functioning level. Most importantly, he is a very happy child.
Despite our earnest attempts, 12 years and four pediatricians later, we still cannot simply get him evaluated for this HHS established vaccine injury. Last year I filed a complaint against my own pediatrician with the state medical board, reporting that after multiple requests to evaluate my son for the condition, he had simply ignored my appeals as my previous pediatricians had. I asked the board to rule on whether or not my son had the right to an evaluation per an established standard of care, noting that if I had taken him to the doctor and reported that I believed he had a broken leg, their failure to assess him would constitute medical neglect.
The board investigated the matter, but their ruling did not address the question of what the duty of the doctor is to a patient reporting vaccine adverse reactions, and simply gave a non sequitur response to close the case. Their action was a de facto ruling that no doctor has an obligation to investigate suspected vaccine injuries, and evidence that the medical establishment's response to vaccine adverse reactions is systematized medical negligence.
Our experience is identical to that of untold thousands of parents, who learn the hard way that once your child is injured by a vaccine, you are on your own. The system has chosen to respond to those families with neglect, insults, coercion and even Child Protective Service intervention, rather than to reform the program to put measures in place to protect children and families from harm and fraud, as is the case with every other medical product in this country.
The 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act, and the Supreme Court ruling Bruesewitz v Wyeth that sided with the pharmaceutical industry, removed the 7th amendment rights of individuals to sue in cases of vaccine injury and death. Parents report being routinely bullied in pediatricians' offices for refusing one or more vaccines by physicians and nurses who know vastly less about vaccination and its risks than the family being bullied does, and who cannot give accurate answers to parental questions. Often these families are coerced into signing statements saying that they are violating medical recommendations, putting their child and the public at risk, and are occasionally threatened with Child Protective Service intervention.
In 2015, in response to the national push to remove the rights of parents of schoolchildren to opt out of one or more vaccines, the Maine Coalition for Vaccine Choice worked with legislators to put the focus on the true problem in child health, the unaddressed vaccine injury epidemic, by introducing the Maine Vaccine Consumer Protection Act. The President of the Maine Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (Maine AAP) could not even correctly name or describe the program, submitting testimony that, “The Federal Vaccine Injury Program provides appropriate venue for reporting and tracking vaccine related side effects.”
The Maine Hospital Association testified on vaccine package inserts that “People don’t receive vaccines like they do other prescriptions… not sure there is a package here.”
The representative of the Maine Medical Association (MMA, the Maine Chapter of the American Medical Association) gave a long speech claiming that physicians are constantly trained in this area, but when asked about VICP rulings replied, “I don’t know. Mainstream medicine is in a state of willful ignorance over vaccine injury. Their response to the vast vaccine injury problem is denialism; systematized medical negligence of a growing segment of the population; attacking those with injured loved ones as unscientific, dangerous, “vaccine deniers”; and advocating that they be coerced into continuing in the program, at the cost of a child's education (approximately $50,000 per child.) Why would any sane, conscientious parent, knowing the depths of the corruption in the US National Immunization Program, simply take CDC safety and efficacy claims at face value, and unquestioningly follow the recommended schedule?
There is just no evidence that public health officials, mainstream medical providers or most researchers take vaccine safety seriously.
Finally, the editors of this journal have asked an important question, and I wish to answer it as frankly as I can:
"Is there anything that you think might help to resolve the controversy surrounding vaccinations?"
The controversy surrounding vaccinations will never be resolved until the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act is repealed, and until families 7th amendment rights to have their complaints heard in civil court, under established legal procedure and ruled on by a jury, is restored.
Until there is a way to force public health officials, vaccine industry representatives and medical professionals to testify under oath, and under penalty of perjury, to either defend or retract their fraudulent claims, to pay for the damages done to children (including my child) for their institutionalized abuse and negligence, I will never consent to another member of my family participating in the vaccine program under any circumstances.
To say that this has been an active couple of days for
information would be quite the understatement. For years we
have been asking the question, "Why is America so OK with the
corruption that is destroying our children, and our country?"
Well I get the sense that at long last, they aren't.
Two of the most curious pieces of information that came to
our attention yesterday, are the fact that CDC scientists are so
sick of the corruption in their own agency that they have formed a
group to call for a clean up, and that CDC has called for public
comment on the MMR vaccine. I can't help but think that these two
things might be strongly associated.
CDC is corrupt to the bone. We all know it, and people associated
with the agency can sometimes barely contain their contempt for
vaccine injury parents who are speaking truth to power. As
demonstrated by #Flipper and his friends on Friday during the
protest outside the CDC headquarters in Atlanta.
Well now we know that there is a backlash in play against the
CDC's culture of corruption, and while those angry at the bosses
for selling out science and sound health policy are not yet ready
to put their names on their position for fear of reprisals, they
have spoken out.
"A group calling itself CDC Scientists
Preserving Integrity, Diligence and Ethics in Research, or CDC
SPIDER, put a list of complaints in writing in a letter to the CDC
Chief of Staff and provided a copy of the letter to the public
watchdog organization U.S. Right to Know (USRTK). The members of
the group have elected to file the complaint anonymously for fear
of retribution.
“It appears that our mission is being influenced and shaped by
outside parties and rogue interests... and Congressional intent
for our agency is being circumvented by some of our leaders. What
concerns us most, is that it is becoming the norm and not the rare
exception,” the letter states. “These questionable and unethical
practices threaten to undermine our credibility and reputation as
a trusted leader in public health.”
On the same day, CDC has announced that they are taking public
comment on the MMR vaccine? Of all things?? Of all times???
They are doing this now??????

specific vaccines. HHS/CDC seeks written comment on the proposed

They are fully under assault for their corruption in the Thompson
scandal for withholding links between the MMR and autism, while a
federal lawsuit is showing that Merck faked their efficacy data on
the Mumps component of the vaccine... AND THEY ARE SUDDENLY ASKING
FOR PUBLIC COMMENT? WHAT!!??

Why in the world would CDC give us an official open door to do
this? Might it be that the rank and file are sick of the
corruption too, and are leaving the the latch open for the
barbarians to storm the gate?
Why set us up to spike the ball?
Why invite us into the walled city?
Why give me so many opportunities to come up with metaphors for
inviting their own doom?
The hopeful mom in me wants to believe it is because the people
inside have decided that enough is enough, and they want a
graceful way to start the process of restoring reliability and
credibility to the agency, and soundness to their policy.
The Warrior Mom in me says, "STORM THE GATES!!!!! I WANT EVERY
DAMN FAMILY WITH ANY DAMN MMR INJURY STORY TO UNLOAD ON THESE
PEOPLE! I WANT THIS TO BE THE BIGGEST TRUTH OUTING ON THIS
VACCINE EVER! IF YOU DON'T TELL THEM EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO TELL
THEM ABOUT THIS VACCINE AND WHAT IT HAS DONE TO YOUR CHILD AND
YOUR FAMILY, THEN I DON'T EVER WANT TO HEAR THE WORD VACCINE COME
OUT OF YOUR MOUTH AGAIN!!"
Today the Virginia bill to remove vaccine
exemptions was dead on arrival, and withdrawn by the sponsor.
Yesterday I wrote that this year was not like last
year, that we are the powerful force now, and that was proved to us
in one 8 minute hearing in the VA legislature.
Tim Keller is one of my favorite pastors. He is that
rare bird that is a conservative preacher that actually understands
the plight of the oppressed. He has a sermon where he explores why,
more than a generation after all laws oppressing blacks in the US
were repealed, that they still suffer and struggle. One of his points
is on the phenomenon that some older black Americans still seem to
defer to their white counterparts, even while holding deep resentment
toward them.
He describes a man, living under Jim Crow his
whole life, calling every white man he meets on the street, "Sir."
But when he suddenly acquires all the legal rights of those to whom
he has had to defer, and whom may have owned his ancestors, he is
still, in his heart, the man who calls them, "Sir." He has
been lied to from birth that he is less than, and unlearning that
lie, even when one wants to, is a difficult task.
How
hard it is to become healed and free when one can't cast off the lie
of the oppressor that was used to keep a group oppressed.
The
elephant who had his ankled chained to a staked in the ground when he
was a 200 lb baby, will still believe that same small ankle chain and
stake in the ground can prevent him from walking away when he is a
full grown 6,000 lb elephant.
This is where we are today. We
have been the powerless for so long that we are at risk of not
realizing that we are the powerful now.
It is time for us to
cast off the lie that we have no power. Because we are the ones who
have the power now.
That
Virginia bill sponsor pulled the bill because she could not win. And
at this point, THIS WILL BE THE NORM. California SB 277 will not
stand. It cannot survive the truth we now have, because THEY have
been so foolish as to give us a way to get back into a court room.
2016 is the year of GO!
We don't need to spend time
complaining on facebook about our legislators, or Autism Speaks, or
the AAP or the AMA or the CDC or Pharma... it is time to brush aside
those like the trolls, the media, and the Autism Speaks of the world
who have tried to get in between us and those who are corrupt and
harming our children, and to straight at those who are the true evil
doers here.
So don't waste time being afraid of your
pediatrician (quit them), your family or in laws (if they start to
harass you just turn on the Ben Swann piece and tell them to sit
down and listen), or your school administrators (sue them), or health
departments (sue them too) or other moms who are being nasty (tell
them to their face that they have been lied to and you are available
any time to help them understand the corruption issue and recommend
some good books so they can make informed vaccine decisions), or
legislators (we can now LOVE fighting these bills because we have so
much powerful truth to tell!)
Ours is no longer a spirit of
fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
So look
down at your leg and realize you are not wearing a chain binding you
from moving, you are wearing an anklet that is merely a symbol of
their failing ATTEMPT to chain you down. You are now mature and
powerful. You are now a 6,000 lb elephant.
But a caution to
be as wise as that elephant, too.
We must be sober, serious
and respectable. We must be above reproach. We must be unassailable
in our claims. We must treat one another with all due respect and we
must be respectful of the uncorrupted officials whom we will be
coming before. They have been blinded, and it is time for them to
see the light.

I
will repeat again what I have been saying for a month now, I believe
that this is a spiritual problem, a problem of the heart, and that
the blindness of the majority in our country to this evil now requires
a spiritual solution. If it were merely a matter of truth and
reason, this would have been properly addressed in 1999 when it came
to light.
It has been kept in place and been doing untold
damage to our population internationally, because of darkness and
lies, and the thing that will change it, that is changing it, is God
opening eyes and humbling hearts to face this difficult truth.
It
was Thompson's grief and conviction over his wrong doing that finally
opened up the truth through official channels. I believe it will
continue to be humility, love and fearlessness that will allow the
dominoes to continue to fall, and lead to truth, healing and
reform.
So if you are a believer, and even if you are not, but
are open, to sit down and seek God on this issue, and for yourself.
I will leave you with my reading for myself for today. This
is strong and wise instruction for me, a vaccine injury mother who
was introduced to the world by Dan Olmsted on UPI in 2005 as "One Angry Mom." I hope you will all consider reading it carefully and taking it to heart as we move

I have not done a ton of writing about the individual bullying that goes on to families like ours. But this one deserves a spotlight. Ryan Searfoss is writing to mothers like me to tell them to kill themselves. Because we know that sending messages like these are potentially very harmful, can lead to the end of a life, and are completely out of the bounds of acceptable behavior in society.
This holds for every human in this debate. While certainly disability parents should never be treated this way, not even the most corrupt public official should be either.
And whomever this Ryan Serfoss guy is, and I don't have a clue, I hope those who know him, and whatever community he belogs to, will tell him to cut it out.

Dear Doctors that are "horrified" that Donald Trump and others claim that vaccines are linked to autism,
You don't know the research. It shows that they are.
You have had liability protection for vaccine injury and death for 30 years, you cannot be held accountable for your false statements or ignorance about vaccine risks. If and when you kill or harm a child with a vaccine, their parents cannot sue you.
So when you are ready to give up your immunity, be taken to court, sit in the witness stand, be subject to discovery, be cross examined by my lawyers, under penalty of perjury, in front of a judge, jury and the media, THEN you can be “horrified” at anyone’s vaccine stance. But as you have exactly ZERO accountability for the veracity of your vaccine safety claims, keep your manufactured umbrage to yourselves.
You can either have liability protection OR you can have the public trust.

Mother of a vaccine injured child
So usually every year on my birthday in January I put out the tip jar and ask that if I have been of service to you in any way in the past year, that you consider lightening my financial burden with a few of those dollars that are so popular with so many people now a days.
But this year we took off running with our hair on fire Jan 1 when Pharma fired a starting pistol and sent everyone racing after our vaccine exemptions, and all other life kinda halted. Including the other paid work I usually do.
So now it is June and the coffers are dry and the bank is still insisting that we pay the mortgage and I checked to see if they would take facebook likes and twitter RTs instead of federal reserve notes, but apparently they are not quite that far into the digital economy yet. (They really need to step into the internet age.)

I just vented at one of my mom's oldest friends. Known her since I was in 7th grade. Love her... she is a good woman who has endured great hardship with admirable grace and faith in God.
Long story short..
Mom: "Susan just had a grandbaby, send vaccine info"
Me: "Sending basic Hep B birth series info."
Susan: "Polio is bad."
Me: "Susan, take this seriously, you are pissing me off."
Susan, "I don't know why you are offended. I know how hard you work on autism awareness."
And then I lost my shit. A decade of watching baby after baby after baby after baby fall... and not being able to stop it. Sometimes I think I will end up being a crazy woman who starts screaming on a street corner one day and never stops.

I am offended because because you don't seem to be taking this matter seriously. I don't know how else to explain it.
Vaccine safety in abysmal in this country, half of our kids are suffering from chronic illness, and no matter how much mainstream research and government information I give to people, few seem to get that their tiny babies are in danger of life long damage and illness because their families are blindly participating in the most corrupt program in medicine.
I am offended because I don't do any work for "autism awareness." I hate "autism awareness." "Autism Awareness" month is something that we survive, not appreciate. "Autism Awareness" is a propaganda campaign that hurts families that have a child with and autism diagnosis, and prevents them from getting proper medical care. You have heard of "pink washing" yes? Well "autism awareness" is blue washing. Today is May 1st and my fb feed is full of "Thank God that *&%$#& month is finally over," messages from "autism" moms. And the fact that you can be reading my mothers posts for years and think that I support "autism awareness" work makes me want to bang my head on the wall, and burst into tears. The fact that I can spend a decade of my life trying to communicate serious medical risk issues, only to see that smart people are hearing that I am trying to work on "autism awareness" while their children get sicker and sicker has turned me into someone that struggles with very deep anger on a daily basis.
So I will try one more time to make you understand what I am trying to communicate to you.
Susan... there really is no such thing as "autism." There are no kids with "autism," there are only children with an autism diagnosis. A diagnosis of autism is merely a description of behaviors that has no connection to anything in hard science. Forget "autism" exists, it is just an archaic term used by a Doctor at Johns Hopkins in 1943 to describe something he had never seen before. What is happening in the modern western world is that children are undergoing an extreme assault of manufactured chemicals from the moment of conception, that is such a radical departure from our entire evolutionary history going back to The Garden, that the entire generation of children is sick and neurologically damaged. Kids with an "autism" diagnosis are just a subset of those chemically/metabolically injured children who have some behaviors in common, but often have vastly different medical pictures and biological syndromes that are causing the behaviors.
My testimony to you is that modern medicine (and food) is destroying the health of our children, and then refusing to treat them.
More than HALF of all US children are chronically ill and developmentally delayed. It is life long autoimmunity and brain damage. If they are following mainstream medical protocols, odds are that half of your grandchildren will end up with the disorders on this list. Please read the list carefully. Please keep in mind that 18% of children in this country now are developmentally delayed or disabled.
Vaccines are but one source of this chemical assault, but they are likely the largest part for most children.
I am "offended" because I see you blowing off the information I sent you, and because I know there is a fifty/fifty shot that I will get an email from my mother in three years that says, "Susan McLean's grandchild was just diagnosed with insert neuroimmune disorder here and their doctors have not been able to find anything to help them. Where can I send her?" And my day will be spent looking for alt med resources that you guys can access locally (or fly half way across the country for depending on where baby is), and pay tens (or hundreds like our family) of thousands of dollars for out of pocket, because you didn't take the time to just read the literature I sent and do a basic risk benefit analysis on that specific child.
So if you want me not to be "offended" then please just read what I have sent you. Take a weekend, read through the links completely, and if you think that they are of no use to your family and that I am some version of a crazy person after that, then that is totally fine with me. I have resigned myself to the fact that most of the people in my old life will go to their graves believing I am. But I am loosing my damn mind watching child after child being pushed off the chemical cliff as I scream at the top of my lungs from the bottom of the cavern for parents to stop following us on the path that has destroyed our children.
It is unethical to market pharmaceuticals to children.
Children cannot make informed consent decisions, so it is unethical to market pharmaceuticals to children.
But that is what the Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, MD, MBA is doing. And his target audience is three and a half year olds. While not so subtlety taunting those who are resistant to vaccinating.
The Surgeon General met with Elmo, a three and a half year old monster, to tell him that vaccines are safe. I guess he didn't feel that a three and a half year old would understand what it meant if he said that vaccines were legally classified as "unavoidably unsafe," so that makes it OK to lie to him?
Elmo apparently believes the unethical government propaganda targeted at the the three and a half year old monster, as he shows up to the doctors office to get a shot. Note that neither Elmo or his legal guardians are given the CDC Vaccine Information Sheet that the nurse is required by law to give him or his parents before a vaccine is administered. How will Elmo know that the adverse outcomes of some vaccines include seizures, coma, paralysis, brain damage and death? What about Elmo's right to free, prior and informed consent? Did they even ask his parents any questions to screen for potential vaccine reactions?
No need... "vaccines are safe," right?
One parent whose child has had some very severe adverse reactions was a bit concerned about this turn of events, so she decided to check in on Elmo and this is what she found:

And now here's a baby with a vaccine induced seizure disorder. She had 16 of them that day.
It is unethical to market pharmaceuticals to children.
You can remind the Surgeon General of that inconvenient fact at:
"Elmo has an excuse for believing that vaccines are "safe" and can "keep you healthy." He is only three years old. You on the other hand are a responsible grown up and an MD and THE top public health official and should know that vaccines are legally classified as "unavoidably unsafe" per the US Supreme Court, and can cause serious adverse out comes including seizures, coma, paralysis, brain damage and death in some people.
Remove this unethical video. It defines propaganda to children. Three year olds are not able to participate in informed consent in medical decision making and it is UNETHICAL to direct marketing messages to them.
Further, there is an upsetting irony to this particular piece of propaganda. Many vaccine injured teens and adults, with serious brain damage and developmental disabilities, love Elmo. It is a slap in the face to those families. Especially when it ends with taunt at vaccine resistant families, "why doesn't everyone get a vaccination?" as if there was no federal Vaccine Injury Compensation Program that has paid out $3 billion in damages to 4000 vaccine injury and death cases.
Vaccine injury families are suffering, few can get proper care for their children, and this rubs salt in the wounds."

Most of us grew up in a time when we didn’t have to live through terrible epidemics that killed millions of children and adults.
We can be grateful for that. It was because of vaccines that we have been spared the tragedy of past epidemics.
For example, before the development of the measles vaccine, many children contracted measles and died in the United States every year and even more were hospitalized. After the introduction of the vaccine, the number of infections and deaths dropped precipitously. Measles is a highly contagious disease. If you aren’t vaccinated and are exposed, you have a 90 percent chance of getting it.
We know that measles spreads when an infected person breathes, coughs or sneezes. It spreads so easily that if one person has it, nine out of 10 people close to that person will also become infected unless they are vaccinated or otherwise immune.
In fact, you can get measles just by being in the same room as a person who has it – even several hours after that person has left.
As a doctor, I know that one of the most important things people can do to protect their children from diseases like measles is to get them vaccinated.
And not vaccinating your children doesn’t just affect your own kids. It affects other kids too.
Consider this: some people cannot get immunized for medical reasons – for example, due to an allergic reaction or compromised immune system. And a small percentage of people won’t develop immunity even though they receive a vaccine.
These children and adults who cannot receive or do not respond to vaccines rely on the rest of us to be vaccinated in order to protect them from exposure to life-threatening illnesses. It’s called “herd immunity” and it’s based on the concept that we are part of a social structure that requires us to take responsibility for one another.
That is why getting vaccinated is more than an issue of personal choice or religious preference. It is also a matter of public policy, where one person’s decision affects another person’s health.
Our individual liberties to live on our own terms cannot interfere with our social responsibility to protect others from harm.
We inhabit this planet with more than 7 billion people. And every day, we have to make accommodations – great and small – to live and work and learn and play in the communities we share.
Laws regarding vaccine requirements and exemption policies are determined by your state and local governments.
Right now, all states in the U.S. require children to be vaccinated against certain communicable diseases as a condition of school attendance.
There are some employers – such as health care facilities and day care centers – that require vaccinations to protect their employees as well as their customers.
If you have specific questions about what vaccines to get and why, I encourage you to talk to your doctor.
In recent years, there has been some inaccurate information circulating about vaccines – mostly stemming from a British study linking vaccines to autism.
Please know that this study and its assertions have been repeatedly and thoroughly debunked. It’s not true and the confusion it has generated has been both dangerous and counterproductive to public health.
So let me be absolutely clear: there is no link between the measles vaccine and autism. In closing, I want you to know that it is understandable to have concerns and questions about how to keep your children healthy and safe.
For those of you who are parents – as I hope to be someday – you may have questions about which vaccines are being administered at a specific doctor’s visit and how to recognize and manage any potential side effects.
I always encourage parents to raise these kinds of questions with their children’s health care providers who are trained and experienced in handling vaccines.
When it comes to keeping our nation strong, healthy and secure, we all have a role to play. Vaccinations are one of the great triumphs of science and public policy. Through vaccines, we eliminated the scourges of polio, smallpox and so many childhood diseases that once plagued our nation.
The best way to benefit from these advances in medicine is to get the necessary vaccines for you and your family.
